Who doesn’t know Elvis Presley? He came and made a big
influence in music. With his talent , charm , good looks and sensuality he
shocked the world-especially for the females on that period.
Elvis was born on January 8, 1935. His full name was Elvis
Aaron Presley. He actually born as a twin, but unfortunately, his twin brother,
Jessie Garon, was miscarried. Grow up as an only child, he and his parents
moved to Memphis, Tennessee, in 1948, that is where Elvis graduated from Humes
High School in 1953.
In 1954, Elvis began his singing career Sun Records label which by that time, Sun Record is one of the famous recording companies. Then he became an international sensation in by 1956. With a sound and style that joint his various musical influences, he blurred and dared the social and racial barriers of the time, in a whole new era of American music and popular culture.
Here I attached one of my favorite songs of Elvis Presley,
Jail House Rock ;)
Elvis’ musical influences were the pop and country music of the time, the gospel music he heard in church and at the all-night gospel sings he frequently attended, and the black R&B he absorbed on historic Beale Street as a Memphis teenager.
He played the lead in 33 successful films. He has sold over one billion records, more than any other artist. His American sales have earned him gold, platinum or multi-platinum awards.
He is considered as one of the most important figures of twentieth century popular culture. Elvis died at his Memphis home, Graceland, on August 16, 1977.
